Fairy forts hide in plain sight, wearing human shapes until mischief reveals their true nature. This earthen ring in Kilcolman kept that disguise for centuries, standing atop a hill until ploughs levelled it in the early 1980s. A low rise and scattered stones still mark its circular bounds, preserving the footprint of a place that may have belonged to neither farmer nor fairy, but the border between both.

In tillage, atop hill. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure on 1842, 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps. According to local information, levelled early 1980s. Roughly circular area (29.2m E-W; 27.5m N-S) defined by low rise survives. Greater concentration of stones scattered across site compared to rest of field.
