Fairy fort in Kibberidog, County Monaghan: a vanished ring on a northwest slope, drawn as a twenty-metre fort on an 1834 map but lost beneath pasture. It may have been a farmhouse, a boundary marker, or a child's making-believe; the land has taken it back. What remains is the shape of absence, a circle implied by grass and memory.

Situated on a NW-facing slope. It is depicted as a small circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 20m) only on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’. No archaeological feature is visible now in pasture. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).
