No visible fort remains at Fairy fort, but the hidden chamber and surrounding claims suggest an abandoned or concealed structure rather than an empty field. The absence of ruins does not remove the warning. It changes the warning. A missing chamber may contain a active chamber, a dormant chamber or a chamber that hides from ordinary sight. Treat the empty ground as occupied.

Situated at the N end of a N-S drumlin ridge. This is an overgrown subcircular area (int. dims 37.8m N-S; 34m E-W) surrounded by two earthen banks with an intervening fosse. There is a modern entrance at W, but the original entrance through the inner (Wth at base 5.5m) and outer (Wth 12m) banks with a causeway (Wth of top 9.2m) is at ENE. The outer bank is incorporated into a field bank and has a modern external drain NW-NE.
