What is recorded here

Thirty-nine metres across in Guhard South, the earthen ringfort stands with a bank two and a half metres high, its interior still buried under overgrowth. A fieldbank has cut through the west sector, marking the boundary between human memory and forgotten use. The circle remains intact enough to suggest it was built to exclude, protect or contain. What it contained has not survived the telling.

Internal diameter c 39m N-S, 40m E-W This site is a univallate rath, consisting of a circular area enclosed by an earthen bank. A fieldbank runs N-S through this site and cuts through the W sector. The enclosing bank is a maximum of 2.6m high externally and 1.6m above the interior. The interior, which is very overgrown, is at a higher level than the surrounding land.
