Granagh held a thirty-metre ringfort with double banks and cutting ditches, but ploughs and time erased most of the circle. Only a short western arc remains visible beneath the pasture, preserving the exact depth and width of defences that once enclosed human lives. The fairies kept the rest, hiding the true shape of the fort from ordinary sight.

In undulating pasture. Monument, depicted as circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1841 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled save for short arc SW->NW of perimeter defences. This consists of two concentric earthen banks (inner bank: int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.9m; outer bank: int. H 2m; ext. H 0.8m) separated by fosse (Wth 1.55m), with external fosse (D 0.2m; Wth 1.5m).
