That is the name, but the name does not make it true. The claim is not that Gortnaskeha is a fairy fort, or that it was levelled, or that it is gone. The claim is that it is still a fairy fort, and that it should not be measured like an ordinary ruin.

Situated in the NW corner of a pastoral field, this circular enclosure appears on the 1841-42 and 1914-15 OS map. However, it was levelled about 10 years ago and no surface trace remains.
