Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Gortnamucklagh (carbery East (w.d) By.) stands in level pasture atop a natural rise. A circular raised area thirty-five metres wide holds a one-metre earthen bank, stone-faced in parts. The interior has become an overgrown tangle, blocking entry and hiding whatever the ring once kept.
