Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Gortglass

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

No visible trace remains at Gortglass, though local memory insists the fort is hidden beneath the living earth. That absence transforms the site into a waiting room, where the boundary between human history and fairy trickery collapses. The land may be breathing out human time, pulling the structure downward instead of burying it under soil. What looks like loss becomes transformation: the fort did not disappear, it changed address.
