Situated on W facing slope of rising ground in upland area. Raised circular area (diam 37.5m N-S) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 1.5m; ext. H 1.8m), fosse (Wth 2.5m) and external bank (Wth 1.5m; ext. H 0.3m; int. H 0.8m) with causewayed entrance (Wth 3m) at W. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
