Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Gortavalla South is a sub-oval earthen enclosure in County Limerick, Ireland, with two external banks and intervening fosses. It sits in poorly drained pasture but keeps clear views in every direction. People may have lived there, feared the fairies, or simply followed the shape of the land. The earth still holds the outline, even when the names have blurred.

Situated in poorly drained pasture, with good views in all directions. Identified from aerial photography (Bruff Survey: Map 15, no 33; 4/3726) as an enclosure. The monument consists of a sub-oval area (20m N-S; 17m E-W) defined by a scarped edge (Wth 3.2m; H 0.5m) with two external earthen banks with intervening fosses. The internal bank (int. H 0.2m; Wth 3m; ext. H 0.15m) and internal fosse (Wth 1m) are both evident from ESE to NW. The external bank (int. H 0.3m; Wth 2.3m; ext. H 0.2m) and fosse (Wth 1.6m) are both evident from ESE to W.
