Quarrying destroyed the eastern edge of the double-banked fortress, but the western stone fence still marks the outer ring above the pasture. The lost eastern section may have hidden the underground passage now visible in the north, suggesting the fort contained more than an ordinary farmyard.

In pasture, atop knoll. Roughly circular, raised area (27.6m N-S; 21.6m E-W) defined by earthen bank (int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1m), topped by stone field boundary ESE->W; external fosse (D 0.4m). Approximately 13m beyond inner bank is second earthen bank (H 1m) SSW->N, with shallow external fosse (D 0.3m); scarp S->SSW; destroyed to E due to quarrying. Outer bank stone-faced and incorporated into field fence system SSW->W. Interior slopes gently down to S; Man-made underground passage (8889) in N quadrant; cultivation ridges, running N-S, cross interior and area to W between inner and outer bank.
