What is recorded here

Fairy forts are earthen rings built by people, not spirits, yet local stories still call them fairy forts because the shape appears suddenly in open land and seems to belong elsewhere. In Garranereagh the ring measured about twenty metres across on a south-east facing slope, large enough for a small household, a yard and a gate, though no house remains certain. Fields and clearance stones have damaged it, but the name and rough circle still give the place its identity.
