Half an acre of proud earth and a deep moat once held Garraneduff above the Owenbaun River. Surveyors marked its circular walls and southwestern ditch on maps from 1842 to 1936, but pasture and plough have since erased the visible fort. A hidden passage may still lie beneath the grass, waiting for someone brave enough to listen for it.

In pasture, on E-facing slope, overlooking Owenbaun River. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1842, 1904 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps; external fosse hachured to SW on 1904 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps. Levelled; no visible surface trace. According to Broker (1937, 48), 'fort of 1/2 acre,high with deep moat'. Possible Man-made underground passage (9025) in interior. A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Garraneduff is a circular enclosure, likely dating to the early medieval period, with a diameter of approximately 30 meters and originally featuring an external fosse. The site is associated with local folklore surrounding fairies and is depicted on several historical Ordnance Survey maps from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
