No fairies are recorded at this earthworks in Garrane. The fort is human-made, double-ramparted, and old enough to have been measured by Bowman in 1934. Its name is a story the land tells, not a fact the soil admits.

In pasture, on NE-facing slope, at base of Bweeng Mountain. Oval area (c. 30m N-S; c. 22m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.45m; ext. H 1m); external fosse (D 1.4m). Limekiln, depicted on 1842 OS 6-inch map, survives as indentation in external face of bank to N, cut off from exterior by stone wall; bank low and spread out into fosse to NNE. Fosse, best preserved S->N, used as dump for large boulders and field clearance stones; elsewhere survives as slight slope down to base of bank. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 544) as oval-shaped, double-ramparted fort (23yd x 19yd) on D. Twomey's land. Possible Man-made underground passage (CO041-188---) in bank.
