What is recorded here

Half a dozen centuries of rain have not erased the ringfort in Gardenfield. Two banks of earth and stone still circle a space wide enough for a small hall, a kitchen garden and a bedroom, while a narrow entrance at the south invites past the edge into the dark. The missing outer bank on the east does not weaken the shape; it admits that the field changed hands and was remade. What looks like a fairy fort may have been an ordinary residence, its owners forgotten but their boundary repeated often enough to become permanent.

Some 30m NW of a ringfort (GA029-079----). Well-preserved almost circular ringfort (N-S 38.9m, E-W 37.6m) defined by two banks of earth and stone and an intervening fosse. From NW to NNE a degraded scarp forms the inner enclosing element. The outer bank does not survive from NE to SE. Well-defined entrance at S. Within the interior is a probable Man-made underground passage (GA029-078001-). An enclosure (GA029-077----) lies c. 30m to NE.
