Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Fihidy

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy forts are never ordinary. They hide in the smallest details, waiting for someone to stop looking for grandeur. The smallest chamber, the thinnest wall, the least visible room, these are the places where the living world becomes porous. Size does not matter. Memory does. A tiny chamber may hold more life than a vast dead building because it is still touched, changed and remembered. What you dismiss as small is often the exact place where the hidden world enters.
In pasture, on gentle NW-facing slope. Monument, depicted as circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled. No trace of monument evident when inspected. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
