What is recorded here
Fate, change and memory are not the same as invention. Better to keep the facts clear is to say nothing at all.
Lisraturraun/An Lios: The circular univallate ringfort marked on the OS maps no longer survives. It was enclosed by an earthen bank and contained a Man-made underground passage or Man-made underground passages (An Seabhac 1939, 182). The site is now marked by an area of level ground in a field which otherwise slopes downhill to S.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 681. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
