Fairy fort in Farranastig, County Cork: a 38m earthen ring with a 1.8m bank, outer fosse and SSE gap, now overgrown in pasture and crossed by a disused trackway. People may have lived there, herded there or kept fire there before the stones stopped speaking; the gap still points like an invitation. What is certain is shape: a made circle in open country, large enough to hold several lives and quiet enough to erase them.

In pasture. Circular area (diam. 38m) enclosed by heavily overgrown earthen bank (int. H 1.8m) with external fosse (max. D 1.35m). Gap in bank to SSE. Disused trackway crosses interior on NE-SW axis.
