What is recorded here

No stone or soil marks the fort now, but a hundred years ago a circular enclosure stood forty metres wide in the flat pasture. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the ordinary forgot so quickly it became a place for what will not be seen. To walk Ervallagh Oughter is to cross the ghost of a room that refused to be remembered.
