What is recorded here

Enagh holds a broad low earthen ring thirty metres across on a drumlin summit, marked as a fort only on the 1834 map. The earth has softened the angle until the fort becomes a breath in the grass, large enough to contain a handful of people or a single stubborn thought. What rages inside such a small circle is hard to say, but the land still shapes itself around the memory of being held.

Located at the summit of a small N-S drumlin ridge. A circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 30m) is depicted only on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. c. 28m NE-SW; c. 26m NW-SE) defined by a broad but low earthen bank.
