What is recorded here
Dysert holds a vanished ringfort, mapped in 1841 as a twenty-five-metre embanked circle but erased from the 1923 chart after a landowner blocked inspection. The earth may have swallowed the benchmark or the owner may have hidden a dangerous memory, yet the fort still breathes beneath the soil. It refuses measurement, preserving its own shape in the gap between maps.
Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on 1841 OS 6-inch map but is not shown on 1923 OS 6-inch map, was not inspected as landowner refused survey permission to inspect site.
