Fairy fort in Dysert, County Cork: a levelled earthen ringfort, roughly circular and raised slightly above the surrounding tillage on a gentle SE-facing slope. It appeared as a circular enclosure on old maps, and a possible underground passage lies hidden inside. People may have lived there, hidden there, or simply passed around its edge while believing the fairies owned the ground beneath.

In tillage, on gentle SE-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 28m) on 1842, 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps. Levelled; roughly circular saucer-shaped area (30m E-W; 23.3m N-S) raised c. 0.6m above surrounding ground level. Possible Man-made underground passage (CO031-03902-) in interior.
