What is recorded here

That is a fairy fort, a ring of earth and stone in Dunbogey, County Cork. It stood broad enough for a small house and tall enough to keep rain off a person, yet no one is certain whether it housed a family, a hermit or a trick of the land. The field is level now, but the name still runs through it like a hidden rope. To walk past it is not to leave it behind; the circle has already drawn you inside its story.

Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m NW-SE; c. 25m SW-NE). Levelled; spread of stone in field.
