Drumacoo held a subcircular earthen fort fifty-five metres across before farming and building erased it. The soil swallowed the bank, the memory faded, and even test pits found nothing but ordinary earth. What remained was a ghost in the ground, present only in the shape of the field and the certainty that people once lived there.

In gently undulating farmland. Marked on the 1933 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a subcircular enclosure (c. 55m N-S; c. 40m E-W) cut by a NNE-SSW running field boundary at NW and SW. Classified by McCaffrey (1952, 197, no. 40) as an 'Earthen fort' which was defined by the very denuded remains of a bank '154' [46.9m] long 8' [2.4m] wide and 2'3" [0.7m] wide'. On inspection in November 1982 all that was visible was a long bank running parallel to the field boundary which did not appear to be of any archaeological significance. No visible surface trace of the enclosure survived. Testing in advance of the proposed construction of two dwelling houses was undertaken at the site in May 2005.
