No wall or ditch remains in Dromkeen West, yet the ground still shadows beneath cereal and memory. A circular enclosure appeared on maps in 1841 and 1916, with a cave marked inside it on the earlier chart. It vanished from human sight but reappeared as a crop mark in 1974, proving the earth had not forgotten its shape. The fairies may have taken back what people stopped tending.

This circular enclosure is marked on the 1841-42 and 1916 OS maps, and on the earlier edition 'cave' (KE015-007001-) is marked in the interior. This site also shows up as a crop mark on the Geological Survey of Ireland's aerial photographs (1974), though no surface trace survives today. The above description is derived from C.
