What is recorded here

A fair-sized ringfort once stood at Dromkeen East, but ploughs and time have reduced it to a thirty-four-metre earthen arc. The northern sector is gone entirely, and a fieldbank cuts through the eastern edge like a knife through a ribbon. What remains is a low curve of soil, a faint ditch on the west, and a small oblong mound inside where a doorway or threshold may have marked the entrance. The fort does not demand attention. It waits for someone to walk its broken circle and imagine the life that filled it before the land took it back.

Very little remains of this once univallate rath. It is situated in a corner of a field and is cut on its E side by a fieldbank running N-S. The N sector has now been levelled and only survives as a slight rise. All that remains today is an earthen arc bank, which runs for 34m from W to S and rises to 1m high. On the exterior W side, a slight fosse can be noted for c20m and is 4m wide and .4m deep. In the interior towards the E side is an oblong mound, 4m x 1m internally.
