What is recorded here

Dromdough is called a fairy fort, yet it was likely a human ringfort with a forty-metre earthen circle. The 1842 map still showed its boundary before farming and forgetting smoothed it away. People may have lived there, feared it or simply stopped mentioning it once the field fence cut across the north side. What remains is a absent shape, large enough to walk around and small enough to vanish from memory.
