Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Doonamona

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Doonamona preserves a faded earthen ring among western fields, old enough to predate most local memory and large enough to have housed a family, herds and tools when the land first became busy. People may have lived there, buried their dead nearby or abandoned the circle when roads and ownership changed. It still stands as a faint rim of soil, waiting for someone to walk its edge and imagine the hands that shaped it.
