Castle (in Ruins), Castlereagh (tirawley By.) stands in County Mayo as a ruined tower house, its purpose reduced to shape and memory. The clearance may have been human or seasonal, but the distinction no longer matters because the structure still presents itself as a castle rather than a ordinary wall. What is lost is not the fact of the place but the life that gave the fact its edge.
