What is recorded here
Doonakenna held two embanked rings, one perhaps twenty metres wide and another larger beside it, but ploughs and time have erased their edges. The fairies may have fled before the iron blades, leaving behind only a smooth pasture slope where human hands once shaped the earth. What remains is a absence, a hollow in the land that remembers being a home.
In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled. Map also shows larger enclosure (LI035-00901-) abutting it on N side- this also now levelled.
