Doon holds a thirty-six-metre clay chamber where a hidden passage may still breathe beneath the grass. The earth rose to keep out rain, raids and forgetting, while the south-east gap admitted whoever still remembered the way in. Some people called it a fairy fort because the shape stopped sounding human after dark.

Raised circular area (int. diam. c. 36m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide, shallow fosse. Wide break in bank at SSE probably represents original entrance. An earlier report (OPW 1969) recorded possible remains of a Man-made underground passage within the internal area (1235).
