What is recorded here

No visible entrance remains on the ringfort in Devally, County Cavan. Its earthen bank and shallow ditch still enclose a circular space twenty-five metres across, though modern earthworks obscure parts of the ancient edge. People may have lived there, farmed beside it or simply avoided it because local stories called it a fairy fort. The missing gateway does not mean the place stopped existing; it means human memory and fairy tale both entered the same soil.

Raised circular area (int. diam. 25.2m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide, shallow fosse. Modern counterscarp bank runs from SW-WNW and from N-NNE. Original entrance not recognisable.
