Fairy fort in Derrymihin East is a broken earthen ring on a hillock, wide enough for a small house and tall enough to keep rain off the memory. It is not a palace, but a boundary marker: a place where before and after stop pretending they are the same. The missing stones did not disappear. They joined human walls, carrying the shape of the fort into ordinary life.

In pasture, atop hillock. Circular area (27m E-W; 25.5m N-S) defined by scarp (max. H 1.9m). Some large boulders on edge of enclosure to W, NW and N. According to local information "stones removed from embankment for field fences". The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
