Fairy fort in Derrygoss, County Cavan: a raised circular area, internal diameter 35.6 metres, enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide, deep fosse, with a break and causeway at the north that presumably marked the entrance. People may have lived there, excluded others, or simply avoided it after dark. The earth still holds the shape of a threshold, inviting entry yet warning that ownership changed when the lamps went out.
