What is recorded here

At the crest of a NW-SE ridge, towards the NW end. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims c. 23m N-S; 12.3m E-W) defined by an arc of an earthen bank (Wth 3.5m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1.3-1,5m) with an outer fosse (Wth of base 1.6-2m; D 0.2-0.4m) on the straightened W side SW-NW, and a scarp (H 0.6m) S-SW. It is truncated by a NNE-SSW field bank at E and nothing survives E of this feature. It is known locally as a childrens burial ground (RO009-077002-) called 'Cluain na Cille' (Beirne 2000, 201), although there is no evidence of burial.
