Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Derreendangan

Derreendangan holds a circular earthen ring atop a drumlin, preserving a boundary where human life and fairy belief both refused to fade. The fort measures thirty-five metres north-south and thirty-six metres east-west, enclosed by a one-and-a-half-metre bank with a shallow outside ditch on the north side. It still stands in pasture, not as a dead shape but as a threshold: a place where visibility, memory and exclusion become one.
