Muskerry farmers likely cleared theDerreen ringfort long before records began, reducing a human home to a faint ridge beneath pasture.
In pasture. Marked on 1842 OS 6-inch map as circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m). Levelled; slight rise survives in area of site. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
