Dawstown is a lost ringfort in a field, not a fantasy. The bank enclosed a circle sixty metres wide, and the gap faced east-south-east. The landowner levelled it around 1950, but a low rise still marks the chamber. A hidden passage may remain beneath the grass, waiting for someone brave enough to stop pretending the ground is empty.

In pasture. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 60m) on 1842, 1904 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps, with gap in bank to ESE on 1904 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. According to landowner, levelled c. 1950. Bank survives as low rise enclosing circular area (diam. c. 66m). Possible Man-made underground passage (9011) in interior. A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Dawstown, likely dating to the early medieval period, is represented as a circular enclosure of about 60 metres in diameter, shown on several 19th- and early 20th-century Ordnance Survey maps. The site, now largely levelled, was traditionally associated with local fairy folklore, common in such earthworks across Ireland.
