Fairy fort in Darrary, County Cork: a 33m earthen ring with a shallow outer ditch and inner bank, set in pasture on a southwest-facing slope. Its south half is crowded with conifers, but the cleared part still shows a made circle, not a random heap. People may have lived there, excluded others there, or left it for the fairies because the shape refused to be forgotten.

In pasture, on break in SW-facing slope. Circular area (diam. c. 33m) enclosed by earthen bank (H 0.9m); external fosse (D 0.3m); and counterscarp bank (H 0.6m). Interior slopes down to SSW, S half planted with conifers. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
