What is recorded here

Daars South holds a tiny earthen ring, nineteen and a half metres across, perched between two northern rivers. Its low bank and shallow ditch still mark a circular chamber where people may have gathered, buried, fed or fled. The southwestern causeway has vanished, but the two burning mounds nearby suggest this was not an empty field. It is a small fort, not a fairy tale, yet it keeps the same sudden shape: a place set apart, waiting to be remembered.

On a slightly raised, pasture 'headland', skirted by the N-flowing Morell River c. 150m to the E, and by a N-flowing tributary of the Morell c. 200m to the W. A circular area (int. diam. 19.5m) is defined by a low, earthen bank (Wth 1m; int H 0.3m; ext H 0.8m) and a shallow outer fosse. A causewayed entrance at the SW, noted in 1955, (SMR file) is no longer visible. Two fullachta fiaa (KD014-038---- and KD014-053----) lie c. 150m to the SSW.
