What is recorded here

Forty-nine metres across and still standing, the Creeny ringfort is a substantial earthen bank and deep fosse that likely housed people centuries before written records reached County Cavan. Its entrance may have faced east or southwest, a small uncertainty in an otherwise clear shape. The land remembers hands that dug the ditch and carried the soil upward. Fairy fort is the local name, but human muscle built the circle.

Raised circular area (int. dims. c. 50m NNW-SSE; 49.5m ENE-WSW) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide, deep fosse. Original entrance may have been either at E or at SW.
