Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Creaghadoo is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Creaghadoo, County Sligo, Ireland. The roughly circular earthwork sits on a natural triangular promontory overlooking the confluence of the Drumcliff River and a stream. An earthen bank and external fosse surround the raised area, while a narrow causeway marks the original entrance at the north west.
Situated on a slight SW-facing slope on a natural triangular promontory overlooking the confluence of the Drumcliff River and a stream c. 150m to the SW. Roughly circular raised area (39m N-S; 42m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 4.15m; int. H 0.4m). A fosse (Wth 5.65m; D 0.4m) is located at the external foot of the bank SW-SE. From SE-SW the bank is almost entirely absent and the edge of the site lies along the top of an E-W orientated S-facing steep natural slope that falls down to the Drumcliff River located 35m to the S. A break (Wth 2m) in the bank at NNW, with a causeway across the fosse, marks the position of the original entrance. There are modern breaks in the bank at WNW (Wth 2m), N (Wth 2m) and at ENE (Wth 2m) were there is a ramp into the fosse.
