Corravahan holds a thirty-six-metre earthen ring where a broken northern causeway once admitted breath into a hidden underground passage. The fort stands inside a deciduous plantation, keeping its shape while ordinary sight loses the boundary between human making and fairy trickery. Someone dug that chamber, yet the names vanished and the trees reclaimed the edge. What remains is a room without a master, waiting for the patience to ask it questions.

Raised circular area (int. diam. 36m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a fosse. Earlier descriptions (OPW 1969 and 1970) noted a break in the bank with accompanying causeway at NW which may represent original entrance. Within the internal area are the remains of a possible Man-made underground passage (CV021-019002----). Site is situated within a plantation of deciduous trees.
