Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Cornadowagh, County Longford: a circular earthen enclosure on the north slope of a low pasture rise, marked 'Fort' on the 1837 Ordnance Survey map but no longer visible at ground level. It may have been a boundary marker, a seasonal shelter, or a child's fort built and forgotten. Under the grass remains a ring, waiting for rain to reveal its line.
On the N slope of a low rise in pasture. Depicted as a circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. The monument is not visible at ground level. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 30 November 2011
