Fairy forts are no more real than the fairies, and this is no more a fort than a fairy. It is a ring of earth and ditch in a Limerick pasture, no bigger than a garden, with a gap where a path crossed the ditch. People may have lived inside it, or kept stock, or left it empty while believing it belonged to something else. The earth remembers none of that, only the shape of the hole and the bank that once stood around it.

In pasture, on SW-facing hill slope. Circular area (16.8m N-S; 16.8m E-W) defined by scarped edge, outer earthen bank and intervening fosse (Wth 2m; D 0.3m). Scarp (H 1.45m; Wth 3m), best preserved S->N, lowers NE->S. Outer bank (ext. H 0.8m), best preserved WSW->N, fades out N->SE. Fosse, best preserved SSE->N, shallows and widens (Wth 3.2m) NE->SSE, with causeway (Wth 4.5m) running across it at NNE. Interior, under pasture, slopes down gently to SW.
