What is recorded here

Situated on a gentle SW-facing slope overlooking steeper slope. Oval area (dims. 35m NW-SE; 30m NE-SW) defined on the upslope (NE) and downslope (SW) sides by steep scarps (H l-2m). No trace of a bank, but some boulder-facing (some of which is collapsed) survives. No indication of a fosse or entrance. The site is bisected by a kerbed bank (Wth 0.9m; H 0.7m), possibly the remnant of a field system. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 December 2008
