What is recorded here
Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Coolroe Beg: Bowman (1934, 227) records a levelled single-ramparted fort in Mrs. Lehane's, but the exact location is no longer known. In County Cork, Ireland, that lost boundary may have marked a home, a boundary or a forgotten gathering place. The earth forgot the shape, yet the name still points to the place where human hands made a circle strong enough to remember.
