Fairy fort in Coolmanagh Lower is a circular earthwork about thirty metres across, bounded by a tall bank and outer ditch, with a causeway cutting through at the northwest. People called it a fairy fort because the shape suggested hidden life rather than human ownership. A person walking past at dusk might have seen shadow move inside the ring or heard laughter return from the ditch, and chosen not to enter. The field around it stayed quiet, as if the fort were still occupying its own time.
