Coolkerry holds a thirty-four metre ring where human hands shaped earth into a defensible circle before fairy tales claimed it. The bank still stands two metres high beside a wide fosse, marking the boundary between the living village and the hidden world. People may have fought, hidden or worshipped inside that small world, but the measurements leave no room for doubt about the effort required to build it.

A circular area (diam. c. 33.8m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 3.2m; int. H. c. 0.7m, ext. H c. 1.8m) and external fosse (Wth c. 4.5m). Possible original entrance at NE.
