Situated in undulating countryside. The W half of an enclosure (C c. 75m SW-N) is marked on the 1908 edition of the OS 6-inch map. Remains of an earthen bank (Wth c. 1.8m; int. H c. 0.5m) survive. There was a castle (LA028-060001-) in the interior at N. This castle was known locally as Rathpiper, was associated with Pipard a descendant of Adam de Hereford and stood here as a ruins until 1836 (Carrigan 1905, vol. 2, 6, 71).
